Indulge in the delightful flavors of Creamy Lemon Butter Chicken, where succulent chicken meets a luscious, creamy sauce with a refreshing citrus punch. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Unsalted butter
  • Heavy cream
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Fresh garlic cloves
  • Low-sodium chicken broth
  • Fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Start by patting the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. This helps them sear better. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they’re golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it!
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Allow the sauce to simmer for another 2-3 minutes until it begins to thicken slightly.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over it. Let it simmer in the sauce for an additional 2 minutes to absorb flavors.
  7. Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve hot with your favorite sides, like rice or vegetables.

Nutrition

Keywords: For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken in lemon juice, garlic, and herbs for an hour before cooking. If you prefer a lighter sauce, you can reduce the amount of cream or replace it with a mixture of yogurt and broth. Feel free to add your favorite veggies, like spinach or sun-dried tomatoes, into the sauce for added nutrition and flavor.
