- 500 g ground beef (beef can be used)
- 1 medium head of cabbage
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
- 1 bell pepper (red or green) (diced)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 250 ml vegetable broth
- fresh parsley for garnish
- Start by preparing your ingredients. Finely chop the onion and garlic, and dice the paprika. Cut the cabbage into thin strips. This prep should take about 5 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until they become translucent and fragrant.
- Add the garlic and sauté for an additional 1 minute, being careful not to let it burn as it can turn bitter. You want it to be aromatic and slightly golden.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the meat is browned and no longer pink.
- Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper. Mix well to coat the beef evenly with the spices.
- Now add the prepared cabbage to the skillet, stirring it into the beef mixture. Cook for about 5 minutes until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
- Pour in 250 ml of vegetable broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook uncovered for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the broth to reduce slightly.
- Once the broth has thickened a bit, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. If you prefer more flavor, add more salt or paprika.
- Finally, garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving. This adds a lovely touch of color and freshness.

Keywords: Be careful not to overcook the cabbage; it should be tender but still have a slight crunch. A good-quality non-stick skillet or cast iron pan will help with even cooking and easy cleanup.
